There was a shift in momentum that happened recently in the long-standing fight for the miracle plant, Kratom. On the last day of August, Thailand fully legalized the possession and sale of this sacred plant. Kratom, which is often used as a painkiller and mild stimulant, has been a staple of the region for many years. One of the largest shockwaves to come from this will be the plethora of dismissed pending criminal cases, as well as over 120 convicted individuals released from imprisonment.
Kratom is currently being challenged all the way up to the level of the World Health Organization, but this move by Thailand is in the direct opposite direction of those intentions. This one move pushes for the people an agenda of care and compassion, and not big pharmacy.
